Privacy Policy

Initiatives for Development of Armenia Charity Foundation (“IDeA”) is committed to protecting your privacy and the security of your personal data. This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) informs you of what personal information IDeA collects from you by means of the website accessible at www.auroraforum.com (the “Website”) and explains how IDeA uses this information.

Please read this document carefully before starting to use the Website to be aware of the ways in which your personal data may be treated. By submitting your personal data to the Website, you are giving your free consent to its processing in accordance with terms set forth in this Policy and the applicable legislation.

Who handles your personal data?

Any personal data gathered from you by means of the Website will be processed by IDeA, a non-profit organization whose registered office is at 6, ave. Marshal Baghramyan, 0019, Yerevan, Republic of Armenia. Whenever you provide IDeA with personal information, such information will be processed in line with this Policy and current legislation of the Republic of Armenia (including the Law of the Republic of Armenia on “Protection of Personal Data” adopted on May 18, 2015), General Data Protection Regulation 2016 and other applicable data protection local and international legal acts. At the same time, being focused on observing requirements established by national legislation, IDeA will also take into consideration international best practices generally accepted in the field of data protection.

What types of your personal data are being collected?

The following data is automatically submitted by accessing the Website:

  • IP-address, source of the Website visits and information of search or advertising request;

  • data on the device (in particular, screen resolution, web-browser’s version and other attributes that characterize the device);

  • the clicks, hits on the elements of the Website pages, filling-out of fields, page views, data on the banners and videos views;

  • data characterizing the audience segments;

  • parameters of a session;

  • information on time and duration of a visit;

  • the identifiers stored in ‘cookie’ files.

In some cases, personal information is required in order to facilitate communications between you and IDeA. This being so, the following personal data filled out by you may be gathered and processed by IDeA: full name, date of birth, e-mail, nationality, country of residence. The said personal data is only collected when provided to IDeA by filling in forms available on the Website or specifying the data in correspondence. Please note that if you contact IDeA by post or e-mail, records of these communications may be kept.  

Besides personal data specified above, IDeA may also collect details of your computer's internet protocol address and some other technical information, which is automatically collected by our webserver (e.g. type of browser, operating system used, and survey information).

The Website contains links to other online resources. If you follow a link to any of these resources, please note that IDeA does not accept any responsibility for the privacy practices adopted by the owners of the respective resources even if you access those using links from the Website.  Please check their privacy policies before you submit any personal data to these websites.

How is your personal data used?

IDeA may process your personal data:

  1. to consider your requests;

  2. to send you recent newsletters to which you have subscribed and to inform you about our activities, IDeA’s upcoming events and projects;

  3. to provide you with information and support that you request from IDeA or expect within the scope of cooperation between IDeA and you.

  4. to carry out IDeA’s obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you and IDeA;

  5. to allow you to participate in IDeA’s events and supporting activities, when you choose to do so;

  6. to use in communication campaigns on Aurora Forum and related events;

  7. to prepare and generate statistics and other reports;

  8. to disclose or share your personal data if IDeA is under a duty to do so in order to comply with any legal obligation.

IDeA will not use your personal data for any purposes inconsistent with the purposes above or not permitted by law. Where IDeA proposes using your personal information for any other purposes it will ensure that you are properly notified where legally required. You will also be given the opportunity to withhold or withdraw your consent for the use of your personal information for purposes other than those listed above. IDeA will keep your personal data for as long as is reasonably required for the purposes for which it was obtained.

As far as the above purposes are met, IDeA may conduct any operation or set of operations, irrespective of the form and mode of implementation (including automated, with or without use of any technical means) thereof, which is related to the collection either stipulation or input or systematization or organization or storage or use or alteration or restoration or transfer or rectification or blocking or destruction of personal data or to carrying out other operations, in compliance with the applicable legislation;

What means are employed to secure you data?

We have put in place technical and organizational security measures to prevent the loss of or unauthorized access to your personal data. While your personal data is stored in secured databases that are hosted with the use of technical facilities controlled by IDeA, security of this data is protected by appropriate authentication mechanisms, firewalls and encryption tools (protocols).  

Whilst IDeA uses its best efforts to ensure the security of your personal data, please be aware that the security of information transmitted over the Internet cannot be guaranteed. Accordingly, any transfer of personal data over the Internet, including during submission of such information to the Website, is done at your own risk.

Are your data disclosed to third parties?

Your personal data will not be disclosed or transferred to any third party, subject to the following exceptions:

(a) personal data is transferred to the Partners (Foundation for Armenian Science and Technology, Aurora Humanitarian Initiative Foundation, Inc., UWC National Committee of Armenia Charity Foundation, Scholae Mundi Armenia Charity Foundation, Ameria bank CJSC), as well as RVVZ, Project Management Unit CJSC, G2A CJSC, IDeA Europe Foundation for the purpose of its processing on behalf of IDeA;

(b) personal data may be transferred to a third party as part of a sale of assets or business restructuring;

(c) personal data may have to be disclosed under applicable law for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or requested of IDeA in the exercise of official authority;

The disclosure of personal data may be otherwise required or permitted by applicable law.

Whatever the reasons for the disclosure of your personal data may be, IDeA will take all reasonable steps with the aim of ensuring that your privacy rights continue to be protected.

What rights do you have with respect to your personal data?

You have the right to obtain at any time confirmation as to whether or not personal data relating to you is being processed. Where such personal data is being processed, you may also be provided with information on the content of such personal data, the recipients to whom the personal data have been disclosed, and other information relating to the terms of your personal data processing. You also have the right to object to the processing of your personal data on legitimate compelling grounds except when it is collected in order to comply with a legal obligation or is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party or ask IDeA to correct the inaccurate or incomplete personal data. You have a right in certain circumstances to ask for the data IDeA holds about you to be erased from IDeA’s records. You may ask IDeA to transfer the personal data to another organization or restrict the processing thereof by IDeA.  

If you would like to receive further information concerning the processing of your personal data or to ask us to correct, update or delete any personal data relating to you, you may contact IDeA with a request to do so at [email protected]. At the same time, to protect your privacy and security, IDeA may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before taking any steps based on your request (e.g., by asking you to indicate the e-mail address that you have previously submitted to the Website).

You can unsubscribe from a newsletter or other electronic information about our activities at any time by sending an unsubscribe e-mail.

Changes to this Policy

IDeA may update or amend this Policy from time to time to comply with law or to meet its changing internal policies without notice to you. Any updates will be posted, and the date of recent revisions will appear on the Website, so please check this page occasionally to see if you are happy with current edition of the Policy.
